  • Project Overview

    P2S is part of a multi-discipline A/E Team led by RBB Architects to update the Harbor UCLA Campus Master Plan to include a new 346 bed Inpatient Level 1 Trauma Center hospital building, Ancillary Services Building, Outpatient Clinic and Support Building, Information Technology Building, Central Plant, and Parking Structures. P2S is the lead electrical engineer for Dry Utility design including a new 66kV-12kV SCE service and customer 12kV distribution switchgear building reviewed and approved by OSHPD. The new service includes an SCE 66kV ring bus, two 28MVA transformers, a 2000A, 12kV main-tie-main switchgear, and campus-wide SCADA system. A new campus-wide utility infrastructure has also been designed and approved by OSHPD.

  • Solution

    The project design includes a 10-year phased development requiring demolition of existing buildings and infrastructure and construction of new buildings and infrastructure while maintaining all existing hospital facilities and operations in service. P2S prepared the 10-year 12kV phasing plan. Over 15 Design-Build scoping packages with plans, specifications, and basis of design have been prepared by the RBB Team for the new and existing facilities. The project also includes multiple JOC make-ready packages for barracks demolition, temporary parking, new permanent parking and 12kV overhead demolition and relocation.
