Education First is one of the world’s largest international education companies, with campuses in 53 countries and international boarding schools in the UK, New York and now in California. EF is opening a new international boarding high school in Pasadena, on the former campus of William Carey University. Set to launch in September 2020, Education First is renovating eight former university buildings to adapt them for use as a live-in high school campus. They’ll also build an all-new 262 bed dormitory building and upgrade the site infrastructure. The 975-student private boarding school will feature state of the art classrooms and science labs, art studios, sports facilities, dining commons and on-campus student dormitories.
Our team provided MEPT and fire protection services for the initial site analysis report with CO architects and then for the design of the modernization, which includes infrastructure upgrades, new buildings, temporary structures and renovations. The project also includes demolitions, multi-phase DSA certification and close-out activities. Some features of the project are a modernized gym, administration building, auditorium and home econ building along with new classrooms buildings, auditorium additions and additional restrooms for the continuation campus. The P2S technology team is designing telephone, public address, data, IT, security and audiovisual systems for the modernized Lincoln High campus. We’re also designing a single structured cabling plant for all communication systems, which will be converged using the same IP infrastructure for seamless operation of all systems.
