With levels of biking and walking gradually increasing since the adoption of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, Culver City desired to create a more cohesive network of multi-use paths. P2S provided lighting design as part of improvements to the city’s first protected bike lane on Elenda Street between Washington and Culver Boulevard.
Solution
The scope also includes pedestrian lighting along Washington Boulevard, south of La Ballona Elementary School. P2S coordinated with the utility company determined fixtures and pole types and provided a light fixture layout with photometrics for the walkway. The project included preliminary and construction document phases. Funding was provided by a California Active Transportation Program Cycle grant.
