Pyramid RGB Lighting

  • Project Overview

CSULB’s Walter Pyramid is one of Long Beach’s most prominent buildings and one of only three true pyramid-style buildings in the U.S. The 18-story arena is home to the university’s basketball and volleyball teams and has hosted other NCAA events. CSULB hired our team to design upgrades to the pyramid’s light fixtures and controls at the main level entrances, replacing HID fixtures with energy-efficient RGB LEDs.

  • Solution

Our lighting designers created new, programmable DMX lighting controls that offer flexibility to users, allowing them to adjust colors and illuminations levels for a variety of events. The project included an initial field investigation before design and involved demolition plans for the old site lighting. The new lights and controls are all Title 24 compliant and were designed with detailed lighting schedules to maximize efficiency. Our team also provided construction cost estimates and construction support services to see the project out to full construction.
