Project Overview
Enhance and expand. That’s what CSULB wanted to do with its dedicated science spaces. Sensing an opportunity to improve its science programs, the university chose to demolish the Peterson Hall 3 building and build a new Hall of Science. This 160,000 SF, 3-story building houses lecture halls; chemistry, biology, physics and geology laboratories with support spaces; a vivarium; classrooms; conference rooms and offices.

Solution
We commissioned the HVAC system for each lab, including air supply and exhaust offsets, to ensure systems were operating as designed. Additionally, our team optimized building systems to operate at the lowest possible static pressure, maintaining proper service to the air valves. We also fine-tuned the fire alarm and standby power operating sequences as related to the airside systems, taking them to their ideal configuration.
