Project Overview
The City of Santa Clara is remodeling the 7,906 SF Mission Branch Library located at 1098 Lexington St. The remodel includes the addition of four new study rooms, construction of a new community room entrance, upgrades to exterior windows and doors, installation of new interior finishes, renovation of restrooms, installation of new fire alarm systems, upgrades to building MEP systems and a complete replacement of site landscape and lighting. The City of Santa Clara hired P2S Cx to perform LEED Fundamental Commissioning to ensure the LEED Silver designed upgrades function as intended.

Solution
P2S Cx commissioned the renovated library’s HVAC, building automation, lighting control and domestic hot water systems. We performed all Fundamental Commissioning deliverables in the project scope under the LEED 2009, Energy and Atmosphere Prerequisite and completed all LEED documentation. Our team’s incorporation of commissioning requirements into construction documents, comprehensive testing of equipment and coordination with the design team and contractors verified that building systems were in accordance with the owner’s expectations. P2S Cx utilized CxAlloy, a cloud-based commissioning software platform, to facilitate progress tracking and documentation of commissioning activities and trained the project’s Commissioning Team on its use.
